Important St. Josaphat Dates...

Here you will find important dates to remember just in case you misplaced your monthly school calendar. I hope this helps keep you informed.

The 2001/2002 school year is over. It is well into summer vacation now and I want everyone who has visited "Mrs. Serrato Says" to know how much it means to me. Creating and updating websites has become one of my latest hobbies. It's great to enjoy what you do and know that it's helpful and maybe even entertaining to others as well. With summer here, you may not visit as often and I may not update as often. We need to really enjoy this season, as it is much too short! I hope everyone is vacationing, planting gardens, swimming, hiking, bicycling, walking, camping, and whatever else suits your fancy. Enjoy these next couple of months and we'll get back in touch this fall! Thanks again for visiting this site.

A Tearful Goodye

The school year was coming to a close. A first grade class that only had ten students in it had developed a strong, family-type relationship. It was very difficult for all of them, teacher and students, as they prepared to leave for the summer. There were misty eyes as they walked together down the hallway for the final time that year.

One little girl at the end of the line was weeping openly. It was impossible for the teacher to hold back tears as a witness to this student's obvious anguish.

When the end of the line reached the teacher the child who was sobbing accepted a reassuring goodbye hug. In between sobs the child was finally able to say, "Teacher, I sure am going to miss those hamsters."
